MiSmile Network Orthodontics & Clear Aligners

A UK-wide network of 150+ independent dentists and orthodontists providing Invisalign, which describes itself as the UK's largest Invisalign provider. This page covers UK cost, insurance coverage, NHS availability, and which conditions MiSmile Network typically treats, so you can compare it against other providers and brands before booking a consultation.

Overview

The MiSmile Network is a UK-wide group of more than 150 independent dentists and orthodontists who provide Invisalign treatment. It was founded and is led by Dr Sandeep Kumar, its founder and chief executive, and according to MiSmile has been running for around ten years. Unlike a corporate dental chain, MiSmile does not own the practices: each member practice is independently owned and run, and they share the MiSmile network brand, with Dr Kumar leading and mentoring the network. MiSmile states that it is the only UK-wide group of registered dentists and orthodontists endorsed by Invisalign, and describes itself as the UK's largest Invisalign provider, with its members having straightened over 100,000 smiles — these are the network's own claims. Because members are independent, fees, offers, clinician experience and aftercare arrangements are set by each practice, so treat the network as a way to find a local Invisalign provider and then assess that practice on its own merits.

Which Brands It Offers

MiSmile Network offers Invisalign through its network — availability of a specific brand depends on your local practice, so ask when booking a consultation.

NHS Availability

Invisalign through the MiSmile Network is private only — MiSmile's own cost page notes that Invisalign isn't available on the NHS because it is considered a cosmetic treatment. NHS orthodontic treatment for under-18s who meet the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN) threshold is a separate route: a general dentist refers the child to an NHS-contracted orthodontic practice, where treatment is usually with fixed braces and is free. MiSmile's network is built around private Invisalign, so if your child may qualify for NHS braces, ask your dentist about an NHS referral before paying privately.

Insurance Coverage in the UK

UK dental insurance and cash-plan cover for treatment at a MiSmile Network practice depends on the policy's orthodontic benefit wording, not the network's name. If a plan includes clear aligner or orthodontic cover, it typically pays a fixed contribution once treatment is prescribed and supervised by a registered dentist or orthodontist — which MiSmile's Invisalign treatment is. Check waiting periods, annual or lifetime caps, and whether pre-authorisation is required before paying a deposit.

Cost & Financing

MiSmile advertises Invisalign from £38 a month at participating practices, with long-term and 0% APR finance options, rather than a total treatment price. Its own cost page (checked September 2026) says Invisalign usually starts from around £2,500 and that UK Invisalign typically costs between £2,500 and £4,500 depending on complexity, and that many member practices run package offers. A monthly figure depends on the deposit, term and APR, so ask the practice for the total cash price, the total amount repayable on finance, and what the package includes, such as refinements and retainers.

Best For: MiSmile Network Suitability by Condition

Underbite: Mild to moderate cases only. MiSmile's Invisalign network can address mild to moderate underbites using attachments and inter-arch elastics where needed. Significant skeletal underbites usually need fixed braces or a combined orthodontic-surgical approach — ask your local network practice for a clinical assessment. Overbite: Mild to moderate cases only. Mild to moderate deep bites are commonly treated with Invisalign through the MiSmile Network, often with bite ramps or attachments. More pronounced overbites, particularly with a skeletal component, are typically better suited to fixed appliances. Gaps / spacing: Well suited. Spacing between teeth is one of the more straightforward movements for Invisalign, since it mainly involves tipping and translating teeth into the gap. Crowding: Mild to moderate crowding. Invisalign through the MiSmile Network can resolve mild to moderate crowding, sometimes with limited interproximal reduction to create space. Severe crowding often needs extractions or fixed braces for a stable result. Buck teeth / protrusion: Mild to moderate protrusion. Mildly to moderately protruding front teeth can be retracted using attachments for grip. Larger protrusions, especially with a skeletal cause, are usually assessed for fixed braces or a combined approach.

Suitability for Kids & Teens

MiSmile network practices offering Invisalign Teen assess suitability for a still-developing dentition on a case-by-case basis, the same as with any clinician-supervised aligner brand — ask your local practice which age-appropriate product they offer.
