Professional teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental treatments there is. Patients across Criggion choose it because the shade lift is calibrated to their teeth and sensitivity. Some patients whiten in one appointment; others prefer the slower, gentler take-home route.
Ways to Whiten Your Teeth in Criggion
In-chair (laser/light-activated) whitening happens in a single visit: a strong hydrogen-peroxide gel is light-activated for immediate change, usually lifting the shade several grades in one sitting.
Take-home tray whitening gives you custom-fitted trays to wear at home for a couple of weeks; the slower build tends to be gentler on sensitivity while reaching the same end shade.
Combined whitening pairs a fast in-chair kick-start with trays for maintenance — a popular route in Criggion for people who want quick results that last.
Over-the-counter kits are legally capped at very low peroxide levels and can't match professional results. They suit minor maintenance at best, not a genuine shade change.
Tooth Sensitivity and Aftercare
Sensitivity is the most common side effect — usually a sharp, transient twinge with air or cold that settles within 24–48 hours. A sensitivity toothpaste used for two weeks beforehand noticeably reduces it.
For 48 hours afterwards, avoid intensely pigmented foods and drinks — coffee, tea, red wine, berries, tomato sauces — while the enamel is temporarily more porous. Results typically last 12–24 months before a short top-up restores the shade.
